William Van Riper Recordings for the Linguistic Atlas of Oklahoma (AFC 1984/004)
Contains interviews recorded in preparation for the Linguistic Atlas of Oklahoma. The material results from field interviews of 50 persons, carried out between 1959 and 1963. Part of the Linguistic Atlas of the United States and Canada.
American Dialect Society Collection (AFC 1984/011)
Contains 892 recordings of samples of regional American speech intended for the Linguistic Atlas of New England (LANE) and the Dictionary of American Regional English (DARE), as well as related materials. The recordings were used for teaching linguistics and for linguistic research.
